Terminator Timeline

For those of you who are completely baffled by Terminator Time, here are the timelines corresponding to each film and TV series:

“The Terminator” – Timeline 1

Terminator comes back in 1984 – John conceived 1984/Kyle dies – John born 1985 – Judgement Day 1997 – war ends 2029/Kyle sent back in time.

“Terminator 2: Judgement Day” – Timeline 2

Terminator comes back in 1984 – John conceived 1984/Kyle dies – John born 1985 – Sarah Connor/John Connor/T-800 blow up Cyberdyne Systems 1995 – Judgement Day ‘stopped’/Kyle not sent back in time.

“Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” – Timeline 3, AKA “the Wrong Facts Timeline”

Terminator comes back in 1984 – John conceived 1984/Kyle dies – John born 1985 – Sarah Connor/John Connor/T-800 blow up Cyberdyne Systems 1998 (as John claims he was 13 when it happened – this is one year after Judgement Day and Sarah’s death) - Sarah Connor diagnosed with cancer 1994 (!) – Sarah Connor dies in 1997 (one year BEFORE she blows up Cyberdyne Systems) - Judgement Day postponed until 201

War ends 2029/Kyle sent back in time along with 3 million other people and Terminators – T-800 kills John Connor in 2032, even though the war has ended – Katherine Brewster reprogrammes T-800 and sends it back in time from 2032. SkyNet also manages to send back the T-X, even though SkyNet was destroyed in 2029.

“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” – Timeline 4, AKA “What the F? Timeline”

Terminator comes back in 1984 – John conceived 1984/Kyle dies – John born 1985 – Sarah Connor/John Connor/T-800 blow up Cyberdyne Systems 1997 – John magically turns 15 in 1999, somehow gaining an extra year - Sarah Connor dies in 2005

Sarah Connor still alive in 2007 as they skip forward in time – John celebrates his 16th /24th birthday in 2007/2008 (it is unclear), which shouldn’t take place until 2009 - John meets up with Katherine in 2011, but is now 8 years her junior

Judgement Day postponed until 12th April 2011 – war ends 2029/Kyle sent back in time along with 3 million other people and Terminators – Derek tells us that John is killed by a Terminator in the future, but this would have to be in 2029 (not 2032), as Derek is sent back in time from this date and wouldn’t know if John died afterwards – we’ve no idea when/why Katherine Brewster sends back the T-800 to fight the T-X.

Ouch.
